This mount kit is designed to help you install a VQ35DE, VQ35HR, or VQ37VHR into an old Datsun 240Z, 260Z, or 280Z.
You can see several pics of VQ's in older Datsun 240Z and a 280Z in our pics.... This is exactly how the engine will sit in your S30 Z chassis.
The kit includes a new front crossmember that needs to be welded onto your car's frame rails in the engine bay. You will also have to modify your car's stock crossmember. The VQ35 sits pretty far back and is 95% behind the stock front engine crossmember. Yo will need to remove a small area of the stock crossmember in order for the engine to sit all the way down. You have to remove a couple inches from the engine cradle. This doesn't affect the car at all. The engine is no longer bolted to the original crossmember.
Once you remove the stock steel L-series engine and install the new aluminum V6 you will have shifted several 100 lbs back towards the rear of the chassis giving the car a more 50/50 weight distribution. What is included in the kit:1- Weld-In Engine cradle front crossmember
