This kit allow you to install Saturn Vue electric power steering to any other vehicle. To install an electric power steering to your vehicle you should install a fuse to protect the electric motor from a short circuit and to ensure the safety of the system / vehicle. Saturn recommends the use of a 50 Amp fuse. It is not easy to get a 50 Amp fuse and fuse holder. So, in this sale it is included the fuse and fuse holder (easy to install). Also included is the ECU power connector to make your installation easier.This controller box comes ready to install. All you need to do is to connect a 12V ignition switched power source and install the adjustment knob in a proper place.
This kit comes complete with controller box, adjustment knob, installation manual and ECU plug (everything assembled). Also included 50Amp fuse, fuse holder, nuts and terminals, ECU power connector and terminals.
There are many advantages of an electric steering system. It is reliable, small, easy to install and lightweight (compared with other types of power steering). You only need to modify your steering column !
The adjustment knob included in this Kit allow the user to adjust the steering assistance level. Turning the knob anti-clockwise will give less steering assistance. Turning the knob clockwise will give more steering assistance.
This controller box will fit steering columns from:
- Saturn Vue - from 2002 to 2007
- Chevrolet Equinox - from 2005 to 2007 (in case of doubt please send us a photo of your steering column).
- Pontiac Torrent - from 2005 to 2007 (in case of doubt please send us a photo of your steering column).
- Saturn Ion - from 2003 to 2006 - only in steering column with metal ECU case.
In these steering columns the ECU (electronic box) is mounted in the steering column. It is possible to remove ECU from that place and install it in other place. With this modification it will be easier to adapt the steering column to your car. For those who buy this controller box I will give for free a guide to remove ECU from steering column to allow install it in other place.
These steering columns can have two problems:
- It can be slightly softer to turn left than right (or the opposite).
- When you turn steering wheel, the steering system can turn off without explanation.
