Unit runs from the airbox, and mass air flow sensor to the turbo intake pipe. This hose being in good condition with NO leaks is critical to the running of the car, as it is with ALL mass air flow sensor cars.
NOTE - This will NOT FIT 2003 model year cars. That is the dual port design used in every other year 4 cylinder 9-3, 2004 till the end pf production.I only sell the OEM units from lower mileage cars,carefullyremoved, never aftermarket so they are the same quality as your original.
