1984-1996 Jeep Cherokee/Comanche center console Latch for full length console.
This is a replacement center console latch for the 84-96 XJ Cherokee and 86-92 MJ Comanche full size console. This replaces the latch piece that commonly breaks on the center console. I also reinforced the back of the latch portion to make it much stronger than the fragile factory ones.
It is 3D printed with PETG, which has greater strength and thermal resistance than other materials like PLA. This PETG wont melt or deform in your hot Jeep!
This is only a replacement for the piece that breaks, DOES NOT come with the inner plastic retainer, screw, or spring as these will be reused from your existing console latch.INSTALLATION -remove the screw holding in the broken latch, remove the inner plastic retainer and place it in the new latch in the same orientation you removed it.Remove the metal spring and clip it onto the new latch. Screw the new assembled latch into the console lid hand tight with a hand screwdriver until snug. Back the screw off 1/4 turn to allow the latch to move freely.

***DISCLAIMER***
- These are printed in black PETG plastic. This plastic can start to get soft at temperatures of 190*F. Even in extreme environments this shouldn't be an issue. PETG parts have been used in vehicles for long periods of time without Ill effects,unlike materials such as PLA that can melt and sag in a hot car.
- Some of the edges won't be smooth due to the orientation the part is printed. Once installed these visual imperfections won't be visible. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE LATCH.- This is a 3D printed part, this means not all partswill appear or fit exactly the same. If you have an issue with your part, please contact me and we can work out the issue together.
- Shipping damage must be reported within 3 days of receiving the item. After this time a return/refund will not be accepted nor will a replacement part be sent out due to shipping damage.
