Mounted to my cross bars without issue. Fairly easy to assemble but the coated metal is definitely heavy with a chemical smell that's pretty typical of weather proofed material when it comes out of packaging. Pieces felt strong and not cheaply made material for all of the hardware that came with. Mounted them in a less traditional fashion so they could be all used together to carry a fairly large canoe (old town canoe kennebec 16 foot canoe) on top of a VW Jetta wagon 2012. Straps decent also

Shipped fast, as described. Sturdy. Fit was a little tight but it worked out, I had to cut off excess bolt threads with a grinder. Getting carriage bolt heads through the tight holes in the rubber pad was difficult at first. Partially thread a nut and washer, stick the head of another carriage bolt under the nut/washer and use it as a lever, should pull the head through. Would buy again.
